Crazy Ants Show Up In The MILLIONS.
Around the Bryan and College Station communities, ants continue to be a bothersome pest. There is just a fantastic amount of diversity when it comes to the families and species of ants. From the nearly microscopic to the giant, they are here and not going anywhere soon.
Fire Ants – A prime target
Fire ants remain a top focus both for the extermination of yard colonies and as indoor pests. By August, the colony has grown, and foraging fire ants may be looking for a spot to build a satellite colony. Homeowners want to remain on the lookout for new ant activity around their yards. It is best to destroy fire ants before they establish a colony.
Harvester Ants – Busy, Busy, Busy
Harvester Ants are in the prime of this year’s “harvest” and they are busy looking for grains and other food to bring back to the hive. These are relatively common ants and unless disturbed they do little damage. They will invade a home if they find food and they will sting if you disturb them.
Ants are Hymenoptera and related to bees and wasps. Many species can sting as well as bite. It is the sting of the fire ant that makes your skin feel like it is on fire, not the bite
Pharaoh Ants – They Can Sting
Pharaoh Ants – Small and obnoxious they love the inside of your home. These ants make colonies in walls, under houses, in lawns, and even in flower pots.
Crazy Ants – By the Millions
Crazy Ants – They are insane. They seem like they are drunk, but they show up to the scene by the millions. These ants are perfectly happy indoors or out, and they are aggressive in their search for food and water.
There is only one real way to control ants, and that is to take the fight to the colony. We use specialized baits and tactics to wipe out ants so that the infestation stops. DIY products generally only address those ants that are foraging – away from the hive. We take the fight to the colony so that all of the ants are destroyed.
